The Village School - West Houston Private School
Middle School Extracurricular

Competitions

The opportunity to participate in academic competitions adds an exciting dimension to the learning experience at The Village School.

Beginning in lower elementary school, students are encouraged to participate in contests such as Rodeo Art; DAR; Texas Mathematics League; Math & Science Club; chess, band and choral competitions; and University Interscholastic League.

At the middle school level, students can take part in speech, drama, debate, one-act play, and prep bowl competitions. Local, state, and national writing competitions are also an ongoing priority in our Language Arts department.

Teachers and staff work to offer a diverse range of programs that give every student a chance to get involved. Our experience shows that students who accept the challenge of these competitions gain confidence and poise that serves them well in later life.

Their participation pays off, too, as Village School students have earned numerous local, state and national awards for their efforts.
