After school care is offered to the students of The Village School from the 5-day four program to middle school. Day care is available from 6:45 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. It is also offered during school holidays and during the summer. This program is not a drop-in program. It is a program offered for students whose parents need extended care on a full time basis.

Our after school care mission statement is “to provide a safe, nurturing environment for those children who require before or after school care. At the same time we strive to see that the children are given a true sense of “home away from home”.

The students are given a healthy snack, and those who need a little extra rest time (4-year-olds and kindergarteners) have one half hour of “quiet” time. Those from 1st grade and up come to the day care after school,  have their snacks, are allowed to socialize for about 20 minutes and quickly thereafter begin their homework. A day care teacher is with them to see that homework is done in a quiet and orderly manner. Those students who complete their homework by 4:30 are allowed to go outside and play.  During inclement weather students play table games and computer games in each classroom.

Fridays are special days - the students either have movie day, special field day or field trips.
