| A Note from the Nurse |
Dear Parents,
Since returning to school after the holidays, we have been seeing a large number of students here in the nurses' office with fevers. If your child is feeling unwell, but has no fever please be guarded as to whether it is really necessary for your child to attend school, as this could be the first sign of a viral illness.
When it is necessary for us to send a student home from school due to vomiting or fever, he/she may only return to school 24 hours after any vomiting/fever ceases.
We would appreciate your help in keeping our children in a healthy working environment.
Many thanks.
Your School Nurses. |

La Gloria Donations |
The VMS Student Council wish to thank all the families who have already contributed to our La Gloria Charity Project. We will continue to accept donations in the front office of gently used clothing, shoes, linens, and blankets through Friday, February 8th. We are eager to deliver your contributions to the community of La Gloria, Mexico, on Saturday, February 16th. Your generosity has amazed us! |

Carpool Consideration |
|
Each day the office personnel are confronted with phone calls from parents regarding rudeness or breaking of carpool rules.
It is seemingly very difficult to communicate the rules to all participants. We feel that in many cases whoever is driving the vehicle is not familiar with the expectations. In many cases, relatives are driving the children and may be totally ignorant of the rules that have been set forth.
Our neighbors also complain to us almost daily about bad manners displayed on the streets surrounding our school and about the dangers of nearly colliding with a vehicle which is making a U-turn in the street.
The most common complaint is in regard to drivers cutting in line in front of those who have been waiting.
In addition, students are being dropped off at the curb. This is against policy and is extremely dangerous. All students must be dropped off either at the front door, or for those in fourth grade and above, across the street by the new gym.
Please do everything you can to help things run more smoothly in our carpool lines, and please be sure that any individuals who are transporting your children are fully informed of the carpool rules. |
