CARPOOL VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The 7:20 A.M. Morning Greeters need your help.  We need some new faces for the second half of the school year. It's an easy, fun way to get involved with the school.  Some volunteers are stay-at-home parents, while others find this is a great way to volunteer as a working parent, before the workday begins.  Please just park your car at 7:15 A.M. or so, walk up and introduce yourself. We can tell you which mornings we need your help. Or, call Nancy Solis at 281-497-2512. Your child gets to be one of the first students in the classroom the mornings you volunteer, and you get to help our students start their day! Take your turn helping and make your child proud!

PARKING ALERT

car/truck hittingPlease take care when parking in front of the school facing west on Westella.  Two cars, parked legally, have been hit by Metro Buses.  Metro Buses turning right (west) onto Westella from Enclave Parkway are having difficulty clearing the corner.  In both recent cases, the car parked nearest to that intersection has been hit.  For the safety of your car, we strongly suggest parking beyond the green bicycle sign.

Spring Fling Update

The Spring Fling (also referred to as the Carnival):

This is a time for family, staff, friends, and the community to come together for a day to play games, ride rides, eat terrific food, meet people, and relax. You will be seeing many flyers explaining different activities of the carnival.  Come see our children, their families, and all the booths they designed and created to have fun.  The tremendous support from the families at The Village School make this day so popular and successful.  It's a day for our families to laugh and have fun together.

 Look for these events:

The Fun Run - This event starts off the carnival.  It starts at 11:30 A.M.  Grades 1-8 run one-half mile and get a free P.E. pass.  Pre-K & Kindergarten walk 100 meters, collecting candy on the track for fun.  The cost to participate in the Fun Run is $3.00.  You must fill out the form linked below and turn it in with your money.

Raffle - We are collecting raffle items which will be raffled off at the carnival.  The type of items we will be collecting include:  children's toys, crafts, gift certificates, video games, theater tickets, DVDs and electronic devices.

Ride/Activity tickets - All rides, booths, foods, and drinks will be purchased with tickets.  Tickets will be pre-sold and sold the day of the carnival.  More details to come!!
