CARPOOL VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The 7:20 A.M. Morning Greeters need your help.  We need some new faces for the second half of the school year. It's an easy, fun way to get involved with the school.  Some volunteers are stay-at-home parents, while others find this is a great way to volunteer as a working parent, before the workday begins.  Please just park your car at 7:15 A.M. or so, walk up, and introduce yourself. We can tell you which mornings we need your help. Or, call Nancy Solis at 281-497-2512. Your child gets to be one of the first students in the classroom the mornings you volunteer, and you get to help our students start their day! Take your turn helping and make your child proud!

Be a Spring Fling Sponsor!
Your generous donation will help sponsor the rides and attractions at the 2008 Spring Fling Family Fun Carnival! The name of your child, family, or company will appear in signage at the school, as well as in our newsletter.

Giving a donation will earn your child a free dress day pass. We truly appreciate any and all donations!

Please make your check payable to The Village School PTA and return with this donation form to your child's teacher or the school office. If you have any questions, please call Jane Deyhimi at (713) 305-9029 or email at jdeyhimi@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support!

TRACK SEASON OFF TO A RUNNING START

track 1aThe Vikings will hit the track at Kinkaid this week for the second time this season, and this time it is official.  The Village track and field action at Kinkaid starts at 4:00 P.M. both Wednesday, April 2nd, and Thursday, April 3rd.  There is plenty of stadium seating at Kinkaid for all Viking supporters.
A number of VMS parents braved the rain on March 14th to watch the sixth grade track team spread its wings for the first time.  Thirteen Vikings recorded their first ever Village Middle School track times, competing in the 100, 200, 400, 600, and 1200 meters.  Erin Merrifield led the way for The Village Track Team posting an unofficial 5:00 in the girls 1200 meters, finishing more than 100 meters ahead of the second place finisher.

New Village School Bus
You may have noticed the newest addition to The Village School family parked outside the new gym. Our new bus has forty-eight seats, with seatbelts,  as well as air-conditioning.  The bus was purchased with funds raised by the generous contributions of the Greater Village School community during the school magazine sale and Gala earlier this year.  We look forward to putting the bus to good use as soon as all the appropriate inspection and licensing requirements have been met.

Labels and Box Tops for Education
