CROSS COUNTRY KICK
cross country

Help the cross country team finish its season with a kick.  The Saturday October 20th St. John's meet is to be run between Allen Parkway and Memorial Drive, just east of Shepherd, and across the bayou from St. Thomas H.S. (we meet at 9 A.M.).  On Tuesday, October 23, please come prepared to help the Pep Club send off the Cross Country team (dismissal 2:30 P.M.), as the team heads to the conference meet scheduled for T.C. Jester Park at 4 P.M.  All supporters are welcome to attend either meet.

The Viking runners have worked hard in practice and performed well at all of this season's meets, including the four Village meets at Terry Hershey Park, and the meet at Houston Christian H.S., where the Vikings captured the team champion plaques for 6th grade girls, 7th and 8th grade boys, as well as the team runner-up plaque for 6th grade boys.  Thank you to all the Viking runners, parents, and supporters.  Go Vikings!
BUS UPDATE

Many thanks to all of you who are being so patient and flexible as we work through our current bus needs.  Please be assured that we are working diligently to offer you the best possible bus service available.  Although we are very concerned with the timeliness and convenience of our bus service, our primary concern is the safety and security of the children.  Thank you for your continued support.

RED RIBBON WEEK   OCTOBER 22-26

red ribbon week

The Red Ribbon Campaign is now the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation reaching millions of young people during Red Ribbon Week each year. Wear your Red Badge proudly and have the courage to say no to drugs!!!

Village School students will be participating in this national event.  They will be kicking the week off with an activity-filled extended advisory on Monday.  Throughout the rest of the week students will be educated on the dangers of drugs and alcohol.  We encourage you to discuss these important issues with your children.

V-FLASH

We hope you are enjoying the new, The Village News Flash (or V-Flash). With the conclusion of the gala we hope you will notice a dramatic drop in the number of notices in your email box as we all fall into the pattern of submitting our announcements on Wednesdays by 5 P.M. to Sharon and Kristi for distribution on Fridays.  Please submit your announcements in Microsoft Word, Times New Roman, font size 12. Feedback on what you have seen or what you would like to see is always welcome!
