“Nooooo!” Charlotte’s brother, Jim, screamed, “tomorrow is the first day of school! I don’t want to go to school!” Charlotte agreed with him. Charlotte is an 11 year old girl who has light brown hair with blue eyes.

“Alright now, both of you just go to bed,” their mom commanded, “it’s late.”

The next morning, Charlotte heard the birds chirping, and the bright sunlight had shined on her face. This woke her up. Suddenly, “Rrrring!” The alarm clock went off. “Uhh!” Charlotte grouched, “oh great, more disturbance.” Charlotte turned the clock off, got ready, and went downstairs. Jim started to weep again because he really didn’t want to go to school. She sat down at the kitchen table and ate her breakfast. After she gobbled up her food, Charlotte grabbed her backpack and headed towards the streets to school. “No friends, no nice teachers, I hope I get nice students in my class this year. I even hope I have a nice homeroom teacher.” Charlotte murmured to herself. When Charlotte saw her school, she was nervous. She really didn’t want to go to school. “Please no bullies, just nice students and teachers,” she kept on saying.

When she entered her classroom, she recognized five or six students from last year, and Charlotte knew they were not nice at all. When she got to her desk, she unpacked her backpack and put all her belongings in the locker. School had just started…

“Class, open your science book and do all the questions on pages 5-10,” Mrs. Frinkle shouted, “after you’re done with that, do all the questions for pages 20-28 .”

Well, that was a nice greeting. She is my homeroom teacher, and she has to be mean on the first day of school? How can everyone finish all this work? She hasn’t even taught us anything yet. Charlotte complained in her mind. How will each person pass 6th grade now?

Thankfully, after an hour, Mrs. Frinkle’s class was over, and it was time to switch over to Charlotte’s history teacher. She walked down to her locker to get all the stuff she needed for the next class, but suddenly, Abby, the bully, from last year, came in front of her. “Leave me alone, Abby!” Charlotte shouted. Abby is 12 with brown hair. She bullies tons of people for no reason.

“No, why should I?” Abby snapped back. She gave Charlotte a nasty look and threw all of her books and folders down. Poor Charlotte picked her materials up and walked to Mrs. Greene’s class.

“Welcome to 6th grade! My name is Mrs. Greene and I will be teaching Social Studies throughout the whole year,” she said happily, “let’s open our books to page 3 and I’ll write down all the facts on the board. Then just do only the first five questions on page 5.” Well, Charlotte knew this class would be the finest and nicest class. She even knew that out of four teachers, Mrs. Greene was the nicest.

After Mrs. Greene’s class was finished, lunch time came, and Charlotte went to her locker to get her lunch. Suddenly she heard, “Give me your lunch money now!” Abby started to bully another person again. She was forcing an innocent, new student named Alice, to give her her lunch money. Alice quickly took out her money and gave it to Abby.

“Why can’t you just leave people alone?” Charlotte cried out loud to Abby. Abby made a horrible look and hit Charlotte while she walked into the cafeteria. Charlotte was kind of angry, but she was thinking about how she would get her back. She wasn’t thinking hard, but had no idea what to do.

“Are you all right?” Charlotte asked Alice. She nodded her head. “My name is Charlotte, what is your name?” she questioned.

“A-Alice,” she answered. Alice is also an 11 year old who has dark blond hair with green eyes. She also can be very shy.

“I can share my lunch with you if don’t have any money left,” Charlotte mentioned. Alice put a smile on her face. They both walked together into the cafeteria and took their seats.

While everybody in the 6th grade was eating peacefully, some boy just threw some mashed potatoes on Abby for no reason and roared, “Food fight!!” Everybody, except for Charlotte and Alice, screamed, picked up a handful of food, and threw it everywhere. Fruit, vegetables, pizza, milk, sauce, burgers, meat, sandwiches, everything was thrown everywhere! Alice and Charlotte ran into a safe spot and waited until the food fight was over. They were in a horrible mood. They didn’t like lunch to start out this way during the first day of school. After a couple of minutes, Alice had thought of a perfect idea. Suddenly, the principle came into the cafeteria and blew his whistle. Nobody listened to him the first time, but when the principle blew his whistle the second time, everybody stopped and stared at him.

“Who started this fight?!” he howled fiercely.

“We don’t know!” everybody spoke out loud.

Alice stood up and hollered, “I know who did it.” She pointed at Abby. Everyone had a surprised look on their face.

“Abby Naffin, come with me to the principle’s office right now!!” the principle yelled.

“Nice going,” Charlotte whispered to Alice, “she actually deserved that for what she did to us.” After lunch was finished, it was 12:00 p.m. and both of the girls’ next class was to go to Mrs. Durble’s room. They both sat down on the table, and of course, Mrs. Durble gave lots of work.

“Now I want to see all of you students to work all 70 questions in the Language Arts book,” Mrs. Durble stammered.

“This class is the hardest class of all! I have to say; even Mrs. Frinkle’s class is easier than this class. Still, Mrs. Durble’s class is the longest, too. It’s about 2 hours!” Charlotte whispered to Alice. After 45 minutes, every person in the class was done with those questions.

Then Mrs. Durble added, “I want all of you to grab that 20 page packet and do the first 10 pages.”

“At least she’s making us do half of the packet,” Alice murmured to Charlotte.

“Yah,” Charlotte replied, “but I think it’s still too much work.” Finally, after an hour, Mrs. Durble’s class was over and it was 2:00. School was almost over and they had one more period, math. So Charlotte and Alice collected their book and entered Mrs. Rankle’s class.

“Class, please open your math books to page 5 and do all the 25 questions,” commanded Mrs. Rankle. “Then after you’re done with that, I’ll teach you a lesson on algebra.

“Algebra?” Charlotte complained and faced Alice, “uhh, I hate it; it’s so hard to learn.” At last an hour and a half passed and it was time to go home. “Mrs. Rankle’s class wasn’t that hard, it was all right,” Alice told Charlotte. When they put all their belongings in their backpacks, they headed towards the streets.

People face loads of problems in school, and probably Charlotte and Alice will face plenty in their school tomorrow and in the future too, but they won’t care as long as they are just friends.
