Twas the morning after finals

And everyone was in bed

While Christmas break plans

Swarmed in their heads

 

Everybody was up

By the afternoon

Finals were over

Christmas would be here soon

 

We called up our friends

And met at the mall

We hit all the stores

From wall to wall

 

Our worries are over

No more studying to be done

Christmas lights shine everywhere

The fun has begun

 

As the day ended

And we laid down to rest

I peered out the window

And who would have guessed?

 

Snowflakes danced

All the way to the ground

I ran outside

And spun around

 

There’s snow in Houston

That’s something new

Christmas break will be

A dream come true
