I was walking on a trail

Knowing that I would not fail

I looked one last time

Thinking that I had done a crime

 

I waved bye to Byron and Joey

I tried not to be so showy

But inside I was truly scared

It was almost as if I was dared

 

There it was a small pond

I looked far beyond

And there was nothing

Should I go in or not I was thinking

 

I took off my shoes

And saw my nasty bruise

I took off my shirt

It was covered with dirt

 

I slowly dipped my foot

I thought I should have stayed put

But no

WOW!

 

I fell into the water

I felt my insides getting hotter

It was a nice temperature

Though I wasn’t sure

 

I thought I felt something at my feet

The water tasted sweet

Something was grabbing me

I must flee!

 

It had a firm grasp on my legs

Oh that ham and eggs!

I felt like it was going to burst!

And then I was submersed!

 

Oh I saw somebody's face

I thought I had left no trace

And I was being saved

And then somebody waved

 

I was being tugged

I thought I was being mugged

But Byron was pulling me out

I tried to shout but I could not

Without a doubt

 

I was laying on the ground

On a small little mound

Byron and Joey were looking at me

This was stupid I agree!

 

We laughed and joked

I was soaked

Oh how glad I was

I gave Byron and Joey a million hugs!
